Thanksgiving Night

  1. Afternoon Readers enjoyed an assortment of Thanksgiving treats while discussing Thanksgiving Night. Cornbread with honey and cranberry slices with cream cheese were a big hit. One of our members sent each of us home with an early Christmas goodie bag, thanks Norma.

Although readers were impressed with the author's beautiful writing most of them including me were disappointed with the characters and the development of the story. So we made our own Thanksgiving celebration. I want to read Richard Bausch's short stories to find out what I am missing.

  2. Richard Bausch's attempt to write a short about family dramas, emotions, love etc.etc. fell far short for somebody who is apparently a very talented author. This book was so boring to read because it touch on some serious topics( a mother's desertion, infidelity, and mental illness) with insensitivity and a total lack of emotion.
